January 20, 2009 06:53 PM

The Global Game Jam (GGJ) is the first of its kind experiment: a game Jam that takes place in the same 48 hours all over the world! The Global Game Jam will start at 5 pm Friday, January 30, 2009 through 5 pm Sunday, February 1, 2009, (all times local). GGJ will take place in 13 different time zones in 46 different locations around the globe. All participants in the Global Game Jam will be constrained by the same rules and limitations, with each time zone having one distinct constraint. It is about making games and the GGJ creates a unique idea space open for innovation and ideas. The theme and constraints for participants in the Global Game Jam will be announced at 5 pm on Friday, January 30, 2009 in your time zone. Kyle Gabler, Indie Developer of World of Goo will be keynoting the event. This event is produced by Susan Gold, Chair for the IGDA Education SIG.
